CHANGE FOR YOURSELF

I found a way,

I changed for myself.

I broke up with silly thoughts,

Instead made wisdom my friend.

My dream of making a difference is coming true,

As I have found a teacher within me.

Now all I need is a finishing touch,

A touch that would make me a role model.

Optimism with Bangalore's traffic

Got enough time? Then take the silk board junction or KR Puram under bridge. I mentioned these two places because the the traffic in horrendous even at 7.15 am in the morning. But I won't fail here to mention few good things that we can do. Utilise the time when you are stuck in the traffic. Read a news paper or call your friend with whom you haven't talked since ages. Oh! yes I am not kidding. The other day my husband saw a man sitting and relaxing in his car reading morning newspaper.

THE LITTLE THINGS
The old man says, " you will forget your own sufferings when you look at those who are suffering more than you." If we all start believing in what the old man has said, we will be the happiest of all, Isn't it? Now I look back and think on what my parents and my life has offered me, the feeling of being lucky makes me enjoy those little things more than ever. Getting wet in rain, and then coming home and enjoying ginger tea is like meditation for me. Dancing in the kitchen while cooking because I know my husband and I will sit together and enjoy the dinner. Giving Rs 3/- extra to the vegetable seller doesn't bother me because I know I will spend Rs 500/- for one time meal when I go to an expensive restaurant.

I have realized that money, material things and comfort do not hold any place if you have broken someone's hope and dreams. It may sound too philosophical, but if your child breaks a glass or some expensive show piece, don't scold and shatter the trust he or she has in you. The child is the one who will look upon you when he/she makes bigger mistakes in life.

INDIA OH INDIA!

Yes I am back to my old, bold and golden country. Attitudes and dreams are not the same as they were 2 decades back. Everywhere I can see colors, vigor to achieve the impossible, and most valuble resource of young minds, that the world cannot ignore. Now I am realizing what all I missed in these 4 years; right from speaking tree ( article on spiritualism) in Times of India to green dot ( for vegetarian) for cakes. I am not being patriotic, but it is a different feeling to find yourself amongst your own language, people, food, and bilboards advertising Indian products. No more to complaint about the infrastructure. It happens only in India that the first phase of Metro in Delhi was completed in record breaking time and has world class technology. The metro tunnel was made below Chandni Chowk and narrow streets of Old Delhi and residents didn't come to know what was going on under their feet. Metro is coming to Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai and other cities. The largest Slum of Asia, Dharavi in Mumbai is being rebuild with proper amenities like 24 hour water & electricity and drainage system. The golden quadilateral express way will connect the 4 metro cities of New Delhi, Calcutta, Chennai and Mumbai.

Good things come with a good price tag. I went to an apartment community constructed by famous builders in Bangalore. I was thrilled to see the security, swimming pools, indoor games room, tennis court, running track, health club, 24 hour grocery store, and community room. The owner of the apartment can enter inside the building by scanning the card key from the basement parking. Unlike barren roads and community in US, it feels good to see here, children playing in the evening.

I can proudly say, "India is a land of opportunities."
