Jeevan ka ek hisa

Jeevan ka ek hissa jo apna hai
Is hisse mein koi dar, ranjish aur bandhan ki seemayein nahi hai
Apne charo aur ek jaal lapeta hua hai
Usko apne is jeevan ke hisse se door rakhana hai
Kya apno ko khush rakh kar hum is hisse ko jee sakte hain
Aisa kuch kar sakte hain jisme kisi aur ki ichayen shamil na ho
Sirf aisa sapna ho jo hur pal ko us ugate hue suraj ki tarah banade
Jiski tapish aur roshni ek naya saware laade
Sawera apni nayi raahoen ki jise dhondne ke liye
maine apne jeevan ka ek ehaam hissa nikal diya
Us ek pal ko bahut nazdik se jeena chahti hoon
ek pal ke liye sirf apne liye...

The age of ego

As children, we learn not to demean others. Forgiveness is taught at every level of our education. But, then it becomes theory. Our ego comes in the way and we cannot apply it in realistic situations. We become hypocrites. Is there a way to get out of this mode and accept things the way they are? Why does ego goes up with our age? Acquring fame, experience and position leads to this menace. Yes, I would call it a menace. You want to get away from it, but your ego forces you to look down upon others and you start thinking that making mistakes doesn't happen in my world. Groupism, politics, and war are some of the after effects of this little devil called ego.

We ask God to give some sense to others. How about doing the same for ourselves? Isn't it worth trying? Sometimes I feel, we act in lieu of God and make certain decisions that make us proud for an instant but we don't realise these decisions might hurt others for a long time to come.

ILLUSIONS
"How beautiful is youth! how bright it gleams with its illusions, aspirations, dreams! Book of Beginnings, Story without End, each Maid a Heroine, and each man a friend!" - Henry Wardsworth

A child is pure and doesn't know the world beyond its comfort zone of love, parent-child relationship and warmth. It is more prone to fall in the trap of negativity and ignorance. Thus it accepts whatever comes in its way as an opportunity and looks forward refining and converting it into what educators call as optimism or pessimism. The above mentioned quote describes the innocence and perspective of youth who aspires to become a responsible adult one day. But I disagree to a certain extent. The comfort zone does have an impact. Illusions and imitations force it to behave like a selfish adult. Superiority, groupism, parental attitude and bringing up are all factors that influence the child to behave in an unexpected manner.

I often wonder, as a child what did I achieve as a good and reasonable person? My desires, dreams and destination were quite unknown to me. Did I try to ever know them? I do regret not getting along well with those who didn't want me to be their best friend. Helping others, being fair and treating everyone equally were true for me only in books and not in real life.

HOPE

It's rekindling, refreshing and rejuvenating. Yes, it is HOPE. For some it is believing in oneself and for others it is trusting the almighty. Hope keeps you alive and makes your existence worthwhile. If it is not done today, we know there is a tomorrow. We fight with the hope to attain peace and win self respect. We fail with the hope to succeed. We pray with the hope God will help us to come out of any unfortunate situation. They say," He who has health has hope and he who has hope has everything. I do have everything but I still hope for making myself better every day. Moroever, it never satisfies your desire to make yourself heard till the horizon though you know you are just a drop in the ocean.

CHANGE FOR YOURSELF

I found a way,

I changed for myself.

I broke up with silly thoughts,

Instead made wisdom my friend.

My dream of making a difference is coming true,

As I have found a teacher within me.

Now all I need is a finishing touch,

A touch that would make me a role model.

Optimism with Bangalore's traffic

Got enough time? Then take the silk board junction or KR Puram under bridge. I mentioned these two places because the the traffic in horrendous even at 7.15 am in the morning. But I won't fail here to mention few good things that we can do. Utilise the time when you are stuck in the traffic. Read a news paper or call your friend with whom you haven't talked since ages. Oh! yes I am not kidding. The other day my husband saw a man sitting and relaxing in his car reading morning newspaper.
